Singing in the Rain

Singing in the Rain has been extended for another week at Auckland’s Civic Theatre after a run of packed houses over the past month. The show is as fresh and uplifting as this view from my window on any kind of day.

Grab this opportunity to go. The West End company’s performance is an absolute delight! An electrical fault brought the show to a halt the night I was there – but nobody cared. Once fixed, the cast simply continued on as if nothing had happened.

Applause, too, for the stage crew. The Singing in the Rain hero’s dance splashed water all over the stage – and front rows of the audience clad in waterproof gear – just before the interval. It was perfectly dry when the second half started. That’s team work for you! What a great show!
