The Grey Heron’s Grooming Session
The scruffy grey heron.
A scruffy grey heron alighted on the top of the car opposite mine in a car park. It was a mess – and knew it!
His grooming session was fascinating to watch. His main tool was his slender, long beak. Taking his time, he wasn’t satisfied until every feather was realigned to give a sleek, elegant coat.
Once done, he quickly flew away.
The trick was to use his beak …
… and work down to his toes!
