The Karerkare Surf Life Saving Club put on a brilliant poetry evening on Friday to celebrate New Zealand’s National Poetry Day. Organized by Sue Gee with Sir Bob Harvey as MC, Kaumatua Rewi Spraggon opened the festival with a mihi.

The entertainment included poetry readings from the experienced, like Elizabeth McRae and Serie Barford, to the young Writing Club members from Rutherford College.
