Fifteen minutes south of Waihi or north from Katikati, is a real treasure for family holidays and celebrations -Athenree Camping Grounds with Hot Mineral Pools. It’s central for North Island visitors and has Tauranga’s airport close by.

The northern end of Tauranga Harbour, Athenree is a coastal village set by an estuary with picturesque walks nearby.

The Athenree Camping Ground is at the southern end. Known for its natural, mineral, hot pools, it has warm welcomes from helpful staff, fastidious standards and modern amenities in an idyllic setting. Chalets and huts are available to rent as well as the use of tents and caravans.

There is a large community kitchen with a big BBQ and kitchen, as well as a fabulous dining area for big groups and small.
